AFP LegacyThe Australian Federal Police Legacy (AFP Legacy) was created to perpetuate the memory of AFP members killed in the line of duty and to support the families of AFP employees who die in service to their community. AFP Legacy provides support to ‘legatees’, who are the spouse or child of a deceased AFP employee, and we raise funds for related charitable purposes.

AFP Legacy currently supports over 65 legatees through professional and compassionate support, as well as providing welfare grants to terminally ill AFP employees.

Assistance provided by AFP Legacy includes bereavement payments, funding towards scholarships, education, extracurricular activities, community participation, attendance on police legacy camps, birthday and Christmas gifts.

AFP Legacy arranges many functions each year; some of these are police legatee specific in order to bring widows, widowers and children together to share experiences and foster support and relationships, whilst other functions, such as the Annual Police Legacy Charity Ball are organised to raise the much needed funds that sustain the charity.

As a not-for-profit charity organisation, AFP Legacy receives no government funding and relies on the generosity of donors, sponsorship and fundraising. Find out more about how you can support AFP Legacy by visiting www.policelegacyafp.org.au
